Special mention in the design of a process heaters goes to process control, which is using the benefit of DCS optimization which allows to implement all the algorithms to keep a smooth run of the furnace independently of the feed flow variation as well as of the fuel composition fluctuation.
A typical control scheme featuring on-line fuel gas analysis, pass stream distribution control and updated safety interlock system is shown in fig.1 and fig.2.
